I had updates on the comprehension notes I write up for each required novel – English has some crazy sayings eg “she wished the ground would swallow her up”, and 35 new novels to add to the library. The new librarians had been hard at work decorating the tiny room with posters, and I was amazed at the borrowing rate – the 3 Harry Potter novels are the most popular. When I first arrived at the school there were only a few textbooks – shared 1 between 5-6 boys! I first left the school with 12 novels – now there are over 150.

Jacob, Lazaro and Yaledi had already started the process of gathering together the required documentation after the school board had agreed to the changes. Creating the NGO to build the school was a bit challenging however by the end of my stay we had the required NGO Registration and an appropriate bank account.
