Delays - Not What We Wanted.😢

Our previous news post was in December 2025 when we were celebrating the speedy construction of the school's walls. Then, we discovered that the value of land transferred into the newly created NGO had to be taxed. It had been expected that the transfer of privately owned land to a government controlled entity would not be subject to taxes, but it was. Work stopped to avoid increasing the improved land value until the tax was assessed and paid. That took 3 months, by which time, rainy season had started which meant that construction work had to stop. And would you believe it, the 2026 rainy season was severe, causing problems across the country, including damage to the schools access road. So we have had to wait for the rain to stop, call in our old friend the grader and repair the road! All of these impacts have meant no construction since December 2025!
